Nice holiday houses, located in the traditional villages of Cyprus, are set amid rolling hills, with the magnificent Troodos mountain range to the north and the Limassol coast to the south. Each house is separated into four or more apartments, has nearby a shared swimming pool and is situated in the heart of these picturesque villages, where winding streets lined with stone houses lead to a small plateia with a coffee shop, mini-market and choice of traditional taverns. These, and the surrounding villages, have been brought back to life by Cyprus Villages, a group of dedicated local people determined to preserve local culture and village life. They also organize an array of activities for all levels and ages.

The apartments, comfortably furnished in traditional decor with local antiques, brightly coloured rugs and timber ceilings, offer modern comforts such as air-conditioning, television, central heating (for winter stays) and hairdryers. They comprise a bedroom with a double bed, a bathroom with either a bathtub or a shower, an open-plan living room incorporating a fully equipped kitchen area and sofa bed, and a terrace or balcony to sit out on.
There are some wonderful ways to get 'under the skin' of Cypriot life: you can participate in local crafts and traditions, perhaps trying your hand at making halloumi cheese, wine tasting or even, during the appropriate season, olive and fruit picking. There is good horse riding nearby, and you can rent bicycles, a great way to explore. Both villages are just a ten-minute drive from Governor's Beach, a long sandy bay offering good fish restaurants.
